Tubaligation

The subject of tubaligation is one that is very important to many men and women.

The tubaligation success rate is very good.

Getting your tubes tied is a very common procedure but one that should be approached with some serious thought. The two most effective procedures for birth control, apart from abstinence, are tubaligation for women and vasectomy for men. Of the two procedures, tubaligation for women is the most invasive.

Tubal ligation (or tubal sterilization) is a procedure to prevent pregnancy by cutting a woman's fallopian tubes. The egg is prevented from reaching the uterus and implanting in the wall. Over 6,000,000 women "have their tubes tied" each year.

About 2% of women will get pregnant within 10 years of having a tubal ligation. So even though you have had your tubes tied, you should be alert to signs of pregnancy.

This subject is just too huge to be covered in a single page like this. Please check with some of the great resources on this page for more information about tubal reversal.
